This is a pretty block! It is paper pieced. I chose to use mostly solid fabrics for this and the light blue background that is my 'constant' fabric for these blocks. Not all have the light blue, but most will. I throw in a cream or off white here and there.
This is a bonus block. There is one other bonus block that I've been working on. It's applique and I decided to sew fusible and turn right side out. Geez....small pieces...what was I thinking?? Anyway, here is the Inside Out Log Cabin Fun block.
For me, this one was tough. And yes, I see where my points are not correct. This is because I did not think in advance as to which little one inch block should be sewn in what order on the corners on a 2" square. I did good just to get the colors in the correct spot! LOL Will I fix it? No, but I shall remember 'fondly' the struggles I had making this block years down the road.
So here in all it's mistakes is the Family Stars 6" block.
Here is April's block. This one is called Keukenhof Garden, Holland. Easy block to do, but it took me a while to get the 2-block rectangles oriented correctly. First glance, I thought it was 4-patches in center and outer edges. A 4-patch in the center, but there are three 2-patches on each side, some turned horizontally, some turned vertically.
Catching up on blocks after being out of town for a few days. This one is Flying High. I decided to piece the background in gentle curves simulating land and sky. Machine applique birds on this 6.5" block
