TBQ

For me, this stands for To Be Quilted.  I have, I think, 9 or 10 tops stacked on the daybed and a couple that will be pieced soon.  I think I need to quilt!!!!

Tops to be quilted
I will not start another project, I will not start another project, I will not start another project, I will not start another project, I will not start another project, I will not start another project.......

Isn't She Lovely....

Why is it that my hubby decides to snap a shot of me when I'm at my absolute worst???  At least this one hides the makeup-free face!

At the kitchen sink recently out of the shower with hair drying naturally!

Ready, Set, Go!

I've got the JUQ Spring Mystery quilt lain out on the floor.  Hope to get it sewn together soon.
On the floor!

I decided to create some embroidery designs to use on the solid purple blocks.  I'm using several design collections from Hatched In Africa to create my blocks.  As usual, I'm taking liberties with the designs to create the looks I want and for them to fit in the purple area.  I hope to create 18 different ones for the 18 purple blocks.  Here's a screen shot of one.
Block2
I created a graphic file for the purple background so I can fit things right in the space.  Luckily, I have the Bernina 830 with Jumbo hoop and will be able to sew out the embroidery in one hooping.  The birdies have appliqued bodies.  Go to Hatched in Africa and type in Applique Birds in the search box.  I'm using birds from Little Birdie Applique, Autumn Birdies, and Autumn Crow collections. Aren't they cute????  For the leaves and other elements, I'm using Spring Leaves and Floral Sketches Set 3.

JUQ Clue #4 Finished!

Progress...all forward this time...made on the Just Us Quilter's Spring Mystery Quilt.  Clue #4 was sewing all those 2.5" squares into long double strips.  Joining 2x2, then 4x4, then sewing into strips makes one's eyes get rather blurry and crisscrossed! LOL

Backward Progress - Forward

I completed the latest clue for the JUQ Mystery quilt.....WRONG!!  So I spent a couple days removing the offending wrongly placed pieces and picking out thread bits and pressing the pieces flat again.  Those blocks are now sewn correctly!

Here is the wrong way
Clue #3 - WRONG
And here is the RIGHT way!
Clue #3 - CORRECT
You'd think after I read the instructions, looked at the pictures...then repeated before sewing, I would have gotten them correctly sewn the first time.  I didn't notice my mistake until someone pointed it out to me after posting the picture on the JUQ group.  But I wasn't alone.  There were several of us who assembled the blocks wrong.  A few even did as I - every single block was sewn wrong!!!  All's well that ends well.

Good Progress Day!

Got Clue 2 finished for the Just Us Quilters Spring Mystery (Facebook).  I think this is going to be a very pretty quilt.  Love the colors I'm working with on this one.
JUQ Clue 2
And the first block completed for Quilty Friends Quilt Along (Facebook).  I got this one reversed...me and angles just don't jive sometimes!  But since the quilt has sashing, I'm leaving it as is.  Next blocks I think I will get correct.  This is such a pretty block!  Looking forward to seeing how the next fabric looks in the block.
Qlty Friends Qlt Along
And I got the April Block done for the Globetrotting quilt on Quilting with Pat Sloan (Facebook).  This block Pat calls San Juan, Puerto Rico.

I'm not slacking!

Just in case anyone thinks I've fallen down into the slump well again, I have not.  I have been working on projects and here's the proof!  I've started a few new projects as well as the ongoing BOMs.

This one is a Quilt Along from Quilty Friends Quilt Along group on Facebook.  I have the print fabrics cut and still need to cut the background fabric.  There are 16 different fabrics in the stack.
Quilty Friends
This is the new Mystery Quilt from Just Us Quilters on Facebook.  The purple is the background, the prints are from a 2.5" strip jelly roll.  Check out the peace sign!
Just Us Quilters
The next two pictures are a couple of small quilts that I've designed and am working on.  They will have embroidered blocks.  I have digitized the embroidery, tested and sewn out.  Now to get the quilts made!
Contours Quilt
The fabric for this little quilt is left over from another quilt.
Dragonfly Quilt
I'm still behind on the Carol Doak BOMs, but I'm not so worried about that.  I'll have some time freeing up once the 2 quilts on Facebook are done.

Keep on Stitchin'!!
